University Commons Public Realm UBC

University Commons Public Realm – Repaving and landscape renewal along East Mall from Agricultural Road to University Boulevard, including watermain upgrades, new street lighting and underground stormwater cistern. The finished project will connect the UBC Bus Loop to Bookstore, and provide pedestrian orientated roadways on East Mall and improved plaza area surrounding the new AMS and Alumni Buildings featuring event lighting, seat walls and seating decks. An installation of interactive art columns will be incorporated into the public space outside of Alumni Building, and seat decks will overlook the new plaza at the East Mall and University Boulevard intersection.
